Credit Union of Richmond is a full-service credit union that has been serving the community of Richmond, Virginia since 1923. Our goal is to help our members achieve their financial dreams by offering personalized services, resources, tools, and education to make informed financial decisions.

What is a Credit Union?

Credit unions are financial institutions that offer similar products to banks. However, unlike banks which are for profit, credit unions are a member-owned cooperative that generally offers better rates and lower fees.

Eligible Family

Immediate family relations of current members are eligible to join, including:

  • Spouse
  • Parents

  • Adopted Children
  • Step Relations (i.e. step children)

Additional Eligibility

  • Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union
  • Employees of this credit union
  • Volunteers within the above localities

What you will need to join

  • Social Security Number
  • Driver’s license or government ID
  • Current home address
  • A $5 deposit for your savings account
