Current Openings:

Position Title: Loan Officer

Reports to: VP of Lending

Position Summary: Credit Union loan officers are to build lending relationships with our members in order to assist them with their financial needs. Loan officers are to recommend products to help members save time and money. Loan officers are to review our members overall financial obligations and make recommendations in order to help our members achieve their individual financial goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of regulations governing loan approvals and an analytical ability to conduct analysis of loan application quality and make recommendations for action.
  • Interview members and gather information necessary to review loan requests via phone and in person. (This includes consumer loans and VISA credit cards).
  • Ability to analyze loan requests and make credit decisions based on the lending policy.
  • Analyze current financial position of loan applicants to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit, authorizing release of collateral on existing loans, changing loan terms, waiving payments, changing due dates, etc.
  • Responsible for making decisions to approve, disapprove, or forward the loan request to higher levels for decisions.
  • Establishes the terms and conditions of loan approval based on credit union’s lending policies.
  • Refers issues that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations.
  • Assists the lending services manager in coordination of duties including development and implementation of various lending programs in accordance with project goals and time lines.
  • Assist in the achievement of credit union’s loan goals as well as individual loan goals.
  • Ensure final loan decisions are reached within an average of one business day.
  • Ensures loan decisions comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Cross-sell credit union products and services when appropriate: Debt Protection, GAP and MRC.

Training and Experience:

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in consumer lending is required or the equivalent.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of regulations governing loan approvals and an analytical ability to conduct analysis of loan application quality and make recommendations for action.

Salary based on experience

Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 8-4
